This tutorial is going to show you how to use Revit 2016 to create the indigo renderer. Please note that this is a tutorial about using Revit 2016 so all updates from this point will specifically use Revit 2016. This article includes the following steps: install the Indigo Renderer plugin, download the free source files, and open in Autodesk Design Academy (or other design software). This section will show you how to download and install the Indigo Renderer plugin. Please note that the only plugins available for Revit at this time are indigo render and indigo render elements, so make sure you download those. To download the Indigo Renderer plugin you will need to go to the Autodesk website. On the welcome page, scroll down to find Autodesk indigo 2016. The second link should be for indigo render plugin. Click on that link and then click on download. Once you have downloaded the file extract it into your plugins folder ( where you extract it is up to you, but for this example we are going to extract it onto the desktop). Open Revit 2016 and make sure that Indigo render is selected in the segmentation panel (click on image 2 below for more information). In this tutorial we are going to use the revit files from indigo render, however this is a free plugin so you can use your own assets/files if you wish. You can get access to the file here: https://www.indigorenderer.com/free-source-files/ This section will show you how to download and install the free source files from indigorenderer. The first thing you need to do is visit the indigo render website http://www.indigorenderer.com/. Once on that page click download in the bottom right corner (do not click on subscribe). On that page there should be three options (you can see them pictured below). All of these options are free, however the first one is for some demo scenes that are not that great. The second option will give you access to the source files of the scenes on their website. The third option will give you access to all of their scenes/source files however it costs money. Be sure to get the free version. Once you have obtained access to the source files, download them onto your machine. Next open Autodesk Design Academy (or whatever design software you use). Then load up any project that includes Revit 2016. This section will show you how to import and open your indigo renderer file in Autodesk Design Academy (or other design software). eccc085e13
